Melrose schools receive grant

Melrose Municipal Schools have received a $7,600 grant from the R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation in Ruidoso. The money is for upgrading computers. Since 2001, this foundation has provided more than $1.5 million to schools across southeastern New Mexico.

Hull Street bids less than expected

The city of Clovis received six bids for the construction of the Hull Street Bridge and all were less than the projected amount of $5.8 million. At Thursday’s City Commission meeting, City Manager Joe Thomas is expected to recommend the lowest bid of $3.3 million be awarded to Hamon Contractors of Denver.
