U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman on Tuesday will chair an Energy and Natural Resources oversight hearing to examine smart grid initiatives authorized in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, and funded in the stimulus bill, and to learn more about opportunities and impediments on the installation of smart grid technologies.

Democrats elect new officers The Curry County Democratic Party has elected new officers for the upcoming year. The officers are: Sandra Martin, chair; Darrel Bostwick, vice-chair; Lance A. Pyle, secretary and treasurer; Ray Hester and Cleo McFall, central committee members. The officers will serve for one year, Pyle said.
