Hounds second in MSU meet

WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Junior Mohamed Noor finished second to lead the Eastern New Mexico University men’s cross country team to a second-place finish Thursday in the season-opening Midwestern State Stampede cross country meet.

Noor ran a time of 18:54.22 over six kilometers, preventing team champion East Central from a top-five sweep.

Senior Richard Kogo was ENMU’s second runner, placing ninth in 19:25. The Greyhounds placed five runners in the top 20 overall.

Freshman Adrienne Montoya of Estancia led the ENMU women to a fourth-place team showing, coming in eighth individually with a time of 15:05.23 over four kilometers.

Junior Nicole Reid was 17th for the Zias with a time of 15:56.08.

ENMU returns to action on Sept. 17 in the Texas Tech Open at Lubbock.
