Winter weather on way

Old man winter wasn’t expected to bring much snow overnight to eastern New Mexico.

But look out.

National Weather Service forecaster Mark Fettit said overnight and most of today not much in the way of snow should be happening in Clovis and Portales.

“Once we get this one system out of the way,” Fettit said. “We have another system coming in that will be a cold front at first that is coming down from the north.”

And that next front could bring light to moderate snow on Thursday, Fettit said.

“I think it is going to be a dry fluffy snow,” Fettit said. “The onset of that might be in the early hours to dawn on Thursday.”
