Weather could be severe Thursday afternoon

The National Weather Service is warning eastern New Mexico could see severe weather on Thursday afternoon.

Senior Forecaster Tim Shy reports the region is under “slight risk” for weather damage in all counties bordering Texas and eastern DeBaca County.

“Thunderstorms will ... expand rapidly to the east and reach the potential for large hail and strong winds over the risk area by late afternoon,” Shy reported.
