Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Ute Reservoir Advisory Group is holding a 10 a.m. meeting Friday at the Tucumcari Convention Center to discuss water supply management at Ute Lake.

The session is about a proposed water pipeline to bring water to Clovis and Portales, according to Mark Murphy, Canadian River Basin Manager for the Interstate Stream Commission.

The meeting's goals are to are reach a consensus for water supply management for the Ute Lake Master Plan/Shoreline plan, according to Murphy.

A model showing water management strategies will be presented by Greg Gates of CH2M Hill Engineering of Albuquerque.

Any type of agreement would have to come before a future Ute Water Commission meeting.

Participants of the advisory group and representatives from Logan, Tucumcari, Quay County, the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water Authority, Clovis and Portales are expected to attend.

The meeting follows Thursday’s meeting of the ENRWA at the Melrose City Hall, where a workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the regular meeting will begin at 3 p.m.
