March 23, 2008 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About noon Monday an officer was contacted by officials at a school in the 1400 block of Cameo for a disruptive student.
Four teachers submitted written statements that a 14-year-old boy was a constant disruption in class.
They said he talks and doesn’t do his work.
The officer issued the boy a citation for disorderly conduct.

 About 8 p.m. Monday an officer responded to a burglary call in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
A man said a man he knows knocked on his door, so he let him in.
He said the man told him he was taking his TV and not to interfere or he would get hurt.
He said the man then left the residence on foot.
He didn’t try to stop him because he said he knows him to carry a gun, and he was afraid of what would happen.
Officers located the TV near the apartment complex.

About 10 p.m. Monday an officer responded to a home in the 2000 block of Gidding for a report of criminal damage.
A man said he heard a window on the west side of his residence break and saw three or more male juveniles running from the area.
The window was valued around $50.

About 1 a.m. Tuesday an officer responded to a bar in the 2000 block of Prince Street to remove a subject.
A manager said a girl had gained entry to the bar using someone else’s identification card.
The 19-year-old girl said she had been caught by the staff shortly after she entered the bar and had not drank any alcohol.
The officer did not detect any odor of alcohol. He issued the girl a citation for presenting false identification.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday an officer was called to the lobby of the police department for a warrant service.
Clerks told the officer the man had come to the police department to request a background check and it was discovered he had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear.
The man was arrested.
