Storm knocks out power for Farwell, Texico area residents

Comments 0

About 1,100 customers were without power following Friday night's storm, with restoration not likely to take place until midnight or later.

Xcel Energy spokesman Wes Reeves said a substation in Curry County, located just outside of Texico, was damaged in the short rainstorm, and crews were working on rebuilding the substation. Reeves said any shortcuts to repower smaller blocks of customers would have taken the same amount of time as a total rebuild.
