Designated driver program begins

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office is launching its annual designated driver program on Thursday.

Participating establishments that serve alcohol will give a gift package to volunteer designated drivers willing to sign a pledge card, according to a news release.

Gift packs include a hat, shirt Coca-Cola products and Frito-Lay chips.

The program will run through the holidays.

Program sponsors include Premier Distributors, The Coca-Cola Company, Frito-Lay Lay and the BPO Elks.

Establishments that serve alcohol and are interested in participating can contact Dean Marney at the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, 769-2335.
