The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) started reconstruction of N.M. 206 south of Portales on Monday.

The project, handled by James Hamilton Construction of Silver City, consists of roadway rehabilitation, earthwork, traffic control, pavement markings, and miscellaneous construction. Construction is anticipated to take three to four months.

Questions or comments regarding the project may be directed to Pat Garcia, Portales Project Manager for the New Mexico Department of Transportation, at 356-0048.
