Base planning meeting to cover transition issues, renewable energy

This quarter’s state Military Base Planning Commission meeting will include presentations on transition issues at Cannon Air Force Base and renewable energy projects, said Office of Military Base Planning and Support Director Hanson Scott.

The meeting is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Clovis Community College board room.

Twenty-seventh Special Operations Wing Commander Col. Stephen Clark will talk about Cannon.

Renewable Energy Transmission Authority Executive Director Jeremy Turner will discuss renewable energy work, including wind turbines, in New Mexico.

Members of community groups that support New Mexico military bases participate in the commission, which the lieutenant governor leads.
