Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around midnight June 30 an officer responded to a home in the 300 block of Rencher Street for a report of a male trying to entice a teen girl.

A man told the officer a male had pulled up beside his 15-year-old daughter in a truck and tried to get her to get in with him. The girl ran home and police were called, he said. The officer was unable to locate the suspect.

About 1 a.m. June 30 an officer was called to a bar on Prince Street for a subject with a gun.

A woman told the officer a female and the female’s daughter had jumped her in the bathroom. She said the woman told her she had a gun and was going to kill her. She said bouncers escorted them outside and the women left.

Around 10 p.m. June 30 an officer was called to the 1300 block of Ross Street for an assault.

A woman said she was walking down the street when a man approached her and made obscene gestures using his hips and hands. She said he then raised his hand toward her as if to strike her.

The officer was unable to locate the suspect.

About 4 p.m. July 1 an officer responded to a report of larceny at a business in the 700 block of West 21st Street.

An employee told the officer she had discovered $100 missing from her purse. The officer reviewed video footage from the store’s surveillance camera and could not determine who might have taken the money.

Around 6 p.m. July 1 an officer responded to a home in the 1300 block of Davis Street for a juvenile who had sprayed bug spray on his mother.

On arrival the woman told the officer her son didn’t actually spray her but had upset her when he used the spray during daylight hours when she had purchased it for use at night.

The officer noted it was the second time that day the woman had called in a problem with her son and changed her story when the officer arrived. He also noted she had a history of similar calls and was often intoxicated when police responded.

He told the woman she could not call the police for false incidents and her misuse of 911 needed to stop immediately.
