Melrose celebrates annual Old Timers Day
What: Melrose’s annual Old Timers Day
When: Friday evening and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday
Where: Activities will take place throughout the Village of Melrose, including the park, baseball fields, little league fields and an area north of the pool.
Background: Organized by the Melrose Chamber of Commerce, the celebration is a gathering of village residents, past and present and anyone else who wants to attend. Organizers are expecting anywhere from 500 to 1,000 people.
2 do: Texas Hold ‘em tournament, pancake breakfast, parade, baseball tournament, quilt show, water games, turtle races, car show, Frisbee golf, fiddlers contest, domino and ice tea social, cook-off and music festival.
Fees are charged for some events.

Old Timers Day schedule:
Friday
5 p.m. — Texas Hold 'em Tourney, Melrose Volunteer Fire Department, $50 buy-in. Proceeds go to Melrose athletic programs
Saturday
7-9 a.m. —Pancake breakfast, Melrose Senior Center
All day — Baseball tournament, Melrose School Baseball Complex
9:30 a.m. — Parade on Main Street, Parade lineup at 9 a.m., Melrose Church of Christ Parking Lot.
10 a.m. —Fifth annual Old Timers Day Car Show, north side of Baxter Park in Higby Street.
10:15 a.m. —Opening of Festivities
10:30 a.m. — Melrose Rotary Club Turtle Races
11:30 a.m. — Fiddlers in the park
Noon — Frisbee golf, northeast of the Village Pool, Water wars at Tom Porter Ball Field or Water Walley Volleyball games, North of the Pool
1-5 p.m. — Quilt Show, Melrose School Music Room
2-4 p.m. — Dominoes and Iced Tea Social, Melrose Senior Center.
6-7 p.m. — Cook-off, 6th Street, West side of the park.
7:30 p.m. — Music Fest, Melrose School P.E. Complex.
