Les Vogt, World Champion in cow horse reining, will be teaching a clinic at the Curry County Special Events Center.

Ticket feature: Events center hosting horse training clinic

RFD-TV’s Les Vogt, World Champion in cow horse reining, will be teaching a clinic at the Curry County Special Events Center.

The public is invited to watch as Vogt takes 17 horses and their riders through the two-day clinic.

The purpose of the clinic is to help riders and their horses learn to work as partners in a trusting relationship to achieve a common goal.

The clinic, hosted by the All Breed Horse Show Association, a local nonprofit, will be held March 26 and 27, offering full day demonstrations and classes.

Though the clinic slots are sold out, there are an unlimited number of spots left to audit the clinic for $20 per day.

The following day there will be a working ranch horse competition sponsored by Joe’s Boot Shop, the All Breed Horse Show Association and Total Equine where riders will hold a cow at the end of the arena, rate and turn back a cow in a specified area, then rope and stop a cow.

There will also be concessions and vendors on hand selling clothing, jewelry, tack and other items.
