Two Clovis students selected for scholarship
Texico High School student Jaryse Harris and Clovis High School student Morris Sharp were two of 44 high school seniors from across New Mexico chosen as Daniels Scholars, according to a news release.
To identify candidates for the scholarship, the Daniels Fund partners with youth serving agencies and college prep providers that nominate candidates for the Daniels Scholarship.
Board of Education sets special meeting
The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education set a special meeting for noon Tuesday at the school’s administration building.
The meeting is to discuss issues pulled off the agenda Tuesday. The agenda was amended because two board members were sick and not able to attend.
Local students share scholarships
Eight local students are among 23 graduating high school seniors sharing in $63,000 for ENMR-Plateau Education Foundation Scholarships.
The awards were announced April 18.
Brandon Fields of Clovis and Christian Pettigrew of Fort Sumner both received Robert M. Harris Memorial Scholarships.
Nineteen Banner Scholarships, worth $2,000, were awarded to Callie Bunce of Clovis, Candace Lyssy and Braeden Dimitroff of Fort
Sumner, Nina Star Galvan of Farwell, Jaryse Harris of Texico and Joli Lindsey of Grady.
Zachary Kenyon of Fort Sumner and Bryce Lockmiller of Melrose were chosen as alternates.
Exchange program seeking host families
ASSE International Student Exchange Programs is in need of local host families for international high school students, according to a news release.
Students are 15 to 18 years old and are coming to the area for the upcoming high school year or semester.
Each student is academically selected and fully insured. Families may select the student of their choice from student applications, family photos and biographical essays.
