Portales woman dies in rollover

A Portales woman died after her vehicle rolled over Tuesday on N.M. 267.

She was identified as Leona Johnson, 34.

State Police Capt. Jimmy Glasscock said she was westbound about 8:15 p.m. when the 1989 Toyota she was driving veered off the north side of the road and up an embankment.

Glasscock said she was the only occupant and she was ejected when the vehicle flipped.

Glasscock said she was pronounced dead at the scene. A witness called in the accident, he said.

Glasscock said an investigation is continuing to determine the cause of the crash.

63boxtop: If she would have been ripped in half, crushed to death or had a broken neck, you could have said "Let me guess, forced by law to wear a seatbelt." Your callous lack of sympathy is appalling.
