Jail escape press release

Here is the press release from the Curry County Sheriff's Department regarding Sunday night's escape from the Curry County Adult Detention Center:

ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY

On 8/24/08 at approximately 9:45 PM, it was discovered that 8 inmates had escaped from the Curry County Adult Detention Center at 801 Mitchell Street in Clovis. 1 inmate, Victor Apodaca was located and captured by the Clovis Police Department. Still at-large are:

•- Victor Sotelo - 26 years of age, 5'3", 135 lbs, Black hair, Brown eyes. Tattoo on stomach "SHORTY". Pending charges for Aggravated Assault.

•- Larry McClendon Jr. - 19 years of age, 6'1", 152 lbs, Black hair, Brown eyes. No tattoos. Pending Murder and Aggravated Robbery Charges.

•- Javier Zapata - 19 years of age, 5'4", 165 lbs, Black hair, Brown eyes. Tattoos on back "ZAPATA"; right arm: "JAVIER", "EVA" and a cross. Tattoo on chest: "OLGA". Pending charges for Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony, Shooting at a Motor Vehicle and Abuse of a Child.

•- Raynaldo Enriquez - 19 years of age, 5'10", 210 lbs, Brown hair, Brown eyes. Tattoos: "JERIMIAH" on neck, Clown with Skull on right shoulder. Pending multiple Aggravated Burglary, Robbery and Assault/Battery charges.

•- Michael England - 29 years of age, 5'7", 130 lbs, Black hair, Brown eyes. Tattoo on back: "Only God Can Judge Me." Tattoo on right forearm: "South". Tattoo on left forearm: "Side". Pending charges for Tampering with Evidence and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

•- Edward Salas - 21 years of age, 5'5", 180lbs, Brown hair, Brown eyes. Tattoo on back: "SALAS". Tattoo on right arm: "LISA". Convicted of Murder and was pending transfer to the NM Department of Corrections.

•- Louis Chavez - 18 years of age, 5'2", 177 lbs., Black hair, Brown eyes. Tattoos: Chest - "FEAR NONE", Both arms: Tribal patterns.
