Press Release: Dodge announces for Campos seat
On Nov. 24 businessman, retired educator and veteran George Dodge Jr. announced his intention to seek the Democratic nomination for New Mexico House of Representatives District 63.
The seat is currently held by Representative Jose Campos, who is seeking the Democratic nomination of Lieutenant Governor of New Mexico.
As owner of two businesses in Santa Rosa, having the experience of 27 years in the educational system as a school bus contractor, coach, teacher and high school principal, and currently serving as vice president of Farmers Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees based in Clovis, Dodge says he can bring a wealth of knowledge and experiences to the table in his efforts to represent District 63 in Santa Fe.
Dodge stated that his goals are, “To ensure the continued improvement of our educational system, make New Mexico a leader in renewable energy and ensure that we are doing everything possible to make it business friendly in an effort to attract new companies to our state thereby ensuring job growth and a stable economy.”
Dodge, 52, a native of Santa Rosa is a graduate of Santa Rosa High and New Mexico Highlands University.
He and his wife Kathy have 3 children, Abran, an Air Traffic Controller with the United States Navy stationed on the USS Wasp in Norfolk Virginia, daughter Renee, General Manager of the Dairy Queen of Santa Rosa and Adam, General Manager of the comfort Inn of Santa Rosa, both family owned businesses.
He is also the proud grandfather of 3 granddaughters Rachel, Lauren and Madison.
