Clovis, Tucumcari granted stimulus money for energy efficiency

The cities of Clovis and Tucumcari and Quay County have been allotted federal stimulus money to improve energy efficiency.

Clovis is to receive $500,000 for a 55-kilowatt solar power system, according to a release from the governor’s office. City Manager Joe Thomas said the system would provide energy for the Clovis Civic Center.

Tucumcari was allotted $52,000 for efficient lighting in City Hall, and Quay County is to receive $347,320 for energy efficiency work in the county courthouse.
