During the Clovis Municipal Schools’ Board of Education meeting Tuesday, the board:
• Recognized Clovis High School Pro-Start students for their achievements at a statewide competition. CHS teams earned the most overall points, bringing them the hospitality cup.
• Recognized Lt. Col. Mark Brown, who served as school liaison officer for the district from Cannon Air Force Base for a year and a half and who is being replaced by Lt. Col. Scott Graham.
• Approved a quote to replace shelving in the Clovis High School library for about $74,000.
• Approved a grant providing security camera systems for Sandia and Highland elementary schools. Deputy Superintendent of Operations Joel Shirley said it was a matching grant from the City of Clovis and the police department. The cost for the systems and their installation came to about $80,000, half of which the district paid.
• Approved a land option of 10 acres offered by the Schuh family for possible use for an elementary school. The plat of land is located on the corner of 14th Street and Schepps Boulevard.
