The U.S. Department of Agriculture will hold a public meeting at 1 p.m. April 10 at the Best Western, 2912 Mabry Dr., according to a news release.
The USDA Farm Service Agency is proposing changes to the program that would allow managed haying or grazing no more than once every 10 years.
The rule changes would apply to new or re-enrolled contracts.
FSA will consider public comments on the changes as it prepares state-specific environmental assessments that will evaluate the effects of the proposed changes, according to the news release.

Television station back on lineup
A CBS television affiliate in Roswell is back on the air for cable customers in Clovis.
Station manager Gene Munsey confirmed Tuesday that KBIM was back on the air, on Suddenlink Channel 8.
Munsey directed further inquiries to General Manager Bill Anderson in Albuquerque. Attempts to contact Anderson and media representatives for Suddenlink Tuesday were not successful.
Clovis airport receives award
The Clovis Municipal Airport received the Federal Aviation Administration’s Southwest region Airport of the Year award, according to airport Director Steve Summers.
The region includes Arkansas, Lousiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Summers said this is the first time Clovis received the award. Summers said he credits his staff and the city’s support for the award.
“I was honored and humbled to accept it on behalf of the city of Clovis,” he said.
