The National Federation of Independent Business named the state’s Republican congressional delegation Guardians of Small Business, according to a federation press release.
The federation selected U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici and U.S. Reps. Heather Wilson and Steve Pearce because of their voting records on behalf of America’s small business owners, according to the release.
Issues included tax relief, card-check legislation, protection from lawsuits and regulatory reform, according to the release.
Local title insurance company president receives citizen of the year award
Curry County Abstract President Jim Sitterly was awarded the New Mexico Land Title Association’s Omer Tucker Citizen of the Year Award during its yearly convention in May, according to an association press release.
The award honors individuals who have been identified as a credit to their profession by their commitment to the promotion of the title industry within the industry and within the community, according to the release.
