Wednesday morning briefing

Santa arrives, ageless Texico and the big blow

Welcome. It’s Freedom New Mexico’s Wednesday morning briefing:

Santa came early to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home on Sunday. The Cannon Air Force Base Medical Group brought St. Nick and presents for each child affiliated with the home. In return, the youth performed several songs for them.

Texico is the oldest community in Curry County. The border town was established in 1902, according to “The Place Names of New Mexico.”

Displaced dogs

Petsense in Clovis is helping give away barely used Igloo-style houses to deserving dogs.

It’s their version of Secret Santa.

This week and next at Petsense, drop off the name of anyone in need of a house for their strictly outdoors dog.

Petsense will get the name to Wandering Tails, the organization donating the houses and they’ll provide shelter for Rover.
