A Clovis man was arrested Friday night on charges of sexual exploitation of children, according to a release from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Jimmy Montano, 25, of Clovis is being held on a $30,000 cash bond at the Curry County Detention Center. He was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of children, both fourth-degree felonies, and one count of manufacturing child pornography, a second-degree felony.

According to the release:

• The Curry County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Clovis Police Department and Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at Walnut Street. During the search, a computer belonging to Montano was located.

• A preliminary on-scene scan of the hard drive was conducted and found that it contained child pornography. Electronic media used to manufacture child pornography was located and seized along with the computer.

• Montano was currently on probation for a prior conviction of first degree child abuse. The New Mexico Probation and Parole Department has been notified of the new charges.
