March 27, 2008 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:


About 1:30 p.m. Saturday, an officer responded to the emergency room for a stabbing victim.


A man said he was attacked when he went to help his younger brother who said he was having trouble with some guys.


The man said he was jumped when he opened the back gate of a residence and hit in the head several times and cut on the arms.


He said he didn’t know who attacked him and didn’t know the location of the house where it happened.


He was treated for lacerations to his arms.

About 5:30 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to a store in the 1000 block of Mitchell Street for a larceny report.


A clerk said a customer had asked to use the phone, and he let him borrow his personal cell phone.


The clerk said man ran out the door with the phone while the clerk was distracted with another customer.

 About 6 p.m. Saturday an officer responded to an alley in the 900 block of 21st Street for a subject down.


The officer found a man deceased in the cab of a pickup truck.


The man’s wife said her husband had been working on a vehicle in the front of their home and must have driven around back to get a part.


She said he suffered a history of heart problems.

About 9 p.m. Saturday an officer responded to a the 1800 block of Prince Street for a robbery.


A male victim said four suspects beat him up and stole his Ipod.


He said they threatened him with a knife and he ran into a store after they robbed him.


Officers found four suspects fitting their description and transported them for questioning.
