On Tuesday an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a report of a subject buying narcotics from a dying woman.
A woman said a man had been buying pain medication from her terminally ill aunt.
The officer spoke with the aunt, who said the man was her friend and she had given him pills when he asked for them.
The man told the officer he had a prescription for hydrocodone but didn’t have the money to fill it so the woman had sold him some pills and also given him some.
The woman’s hospice nurse suggested locking up the medication so the woman could not sell or give away the medication.
The officer noted plans to discuss the case with the district attorney’s office to determine if charges should be filed for distribution of a controlled substance.

About 6:30 p.m. Tuesday an officer was called to an undisclosed residence for a report of a juvenile smoking marijuana.
A man said he went outside to tell his younger brother to take out the trash and smelled marijuana on the youth. He said he had him empty his pockets and confiscated a baggy of marijuana and rolling papers.
When he told his brother he was calling the police, he said the youth took off.
The officer collected the marijuana and rolling papers and noted intent to seek an arrest warrant for the younger brother.

Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday an officer on duty at a school in the 100 block of Commerce Way responded to a situation involving a dress code violation.
A teacher told a boy to pull up his pants and tuck in his shirt but the boy’s pants were too big and kept falling.
The teacher and officer told the boy they would provide him with twine to make a temporary set of suspenders for him but the boy resisted and said that would make him look stupid.
The teacher and officer suggested using the twine to secure the belt loops and again the boy refused, so he was sent to in-school suspension.
The officer was called to the in-school suspension room a few minutes later, where the principal told him the boy had raised his voice, repeatedly asking for his soda and chips, which the officer had confiscated during the incident in the hallway.
The boy was arrested for disorderly conduct, suspended and transported home where he was released to his mother.
