Bank on it:
No federal bailouts here.
Bank of Clovis confirmed it’s healthy status earlier this year by expanding and renovating its downtown Clovis facility.
The finished product at 300 Main is the newest bright spot downtown.
Today, the bank invites you to come on down and take a look.
The bank’s “Celebration of Thanks” is 2 p.m to 4 p.m. and includes free food and prizes.
The ultimate test:
Eastern New Mexico University theater students are putting their talent to the test.
Some 18 students are presenting skits and other performance material learned during their theatre classes at the Freshman Showcase and Reception.
It started Wednesday. But there’s still time for you to be the judge.
Shows at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the University Theatre Center.
Tickets are $4.
Did you know:
Baptismal records show only 36 babies were born to Spanish parents in Roosevelt County between 1915 and 1929. Only one family of Hispanics attended Portales public schools in 1929.
Today, about 40 percent of Portales’ population is Hispanic.
Question of the day:
If you could remove one holiday from the calendar, which would it be?
