Eastern New Mexico University’s Fall 2008 Fine Arts series kicks off Friday.

The series runs through the end of the fall semester, with the last event scheduled for Dec. 11.

The series features events and exhibits from the theater, art and music departments. Some of the events include wind symphony performances, choral concerts, big band dances, and art exhibits.

The first event is a faculty recital by Travis Erwin, a second-year music professor at the college.

Erwin will be playing acoustic guitar music that he has written in the last two years.

He said his music is folk and jazz influenced.
