Fair provides evening entertainment

The Curry County Fair is finishing its six nights of live music with Kene Terry and Stoney LaRue on Saturday night.

Portales’ Kene Terry, an alternative country band, will open for LaRue at 8 p.m. in the entertainment area at the fair on Saturday.

Stoney LaRue, born in Taft, Texas, brings a combination of country, blues and rock to his performances.

His live single, “Oklahoma Breakdown” topped the Texas charts for more than four weeks.

At 30 years old, LaRue performs close to 300 dates a year at top festivals and venues across the world, including the Caribbean and Europe, sharing bills with renowned acts like Lee Ann Womack, Gary Allan, Dierks Bentley, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Willie Nelson, Rodney Crowell and others, according to the LaRue’s Web site.

Curry County Fair Enterainment Schedule

Thursday — Lluvia y Sol Band, 8 p.m., Los Texmaniacs, 9 p.m., Curry County Fair.

Friday — L.A. Party Dolls, 8:30 p.m., Curry County Fair.

Saturday — Kene Terry, 8 p.m., Curry County Fair, Stoney LaRue, 9 p.m., Curry County Fair.
