Business Digest: Agriculture disaster help available

Agriculture producers who suffered losses caused by natural disasters from 2005 to 2007 are reminded to sign up for the new ad hoc disaster programs.

Applications are being accepted for the Livestock Compensation Program, Livestock Indemnity Program and Crop Disaster Program.

For information on disaster assistance and to schedule an appointment, call the Curry County office at 762-4769 or log on to www.fsa.usda.gov/nm and look under the “Spotlights’ section.

Medical Alert’s profits increase

American Medical Alert Corp., a provider of health care communication services and telehealth monitoring technologies, announced operating results for the third quarter of business.

The net income for the quarter and year-to-date were up 51 percent and 49 percent, respectively, compared to the same periods in 2006.

Revenues for the year were at $26.3 million, compared to $22.7 million for the same period in 2006.

American Medical Alert Corp. operates nine communication centers, including H-LINK OnCall in Clovis.
