Claud Rainy Day Extension Club
The Claud Rainy Day Extension Club met Jan. 13, 2010, at the home of Lola Starbuck. Present were Donna Ahrlett, Ginger Beck, Reba Camp, Ann Carter, Joan Ewing, Lois Hollinsworth, Lucille Johnson, Marcy Kos, Evelyn Manning, Betty Mobley, Joy Pattison, Sue Pattison, Hildegunde Pulz, Hilda Rogers, Aloha Starbuck, and Annette Taylor.
President Ann read “Do My Words Bring Hurt or Healing?” The Extension Club ‘Collect’ was read in unison.
Minutes from November and December were read by Secretary Lucille and the Treasurer Reba gave her report.
The group voted to do photo frames for residents in a nursing home at the next meeting which will be Wednesday with Hildegunde and Lucille as hostesses.
Beta Phi
Seven Beta Phi members attended the Nov. 21 social at Kripple Kreek.
They were Colleen Baldwin, Ola Curry, Sandy Davis, Laura Loflin, Patsy Lornez, Beverly Miller, June Patrick.
Everyone had a great fellowship and were very pleased with their lunch.
Chaparral Extension Club
The Chaparral Extension Club met Jan. 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church with 12 members attending.
President Jeanetta Mesner called the meeting to order. Dorothy Bean read “The Way to a Happy New Year” and “You Have No Talent.” The group answered roll call with what they did for Christmas. June Phillips read the minutes and Dorothy Bean gave the treasurer’s report. Sheryl Abdill gave the council report.
Hostesses for the next few meetings were set up.
Hostesses Dorothy and Sylvia Gonzales served a delicious potluck meal.
Sylvia helped the members make Valentine Candy Bouquet Mugs. The group collected canned goods for the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico.

Clovis Education Association
The Clovis Education Association met at 4 p.m. on Jan. 12 at Sandia Elementary. The meeting was hosted by Molly Smith.
Smith, local president, called the meeting to order.
The Legislative session was discussed by members present. Diana Boatman and John Saguero attended the legislative training in Santa Fe.
Read Across America will be held on March 2. Members were urged to participate in this national event.
Greg Maxie, new SE Region UniServ Director from Roswell, was introduced to local members. He spoke to the group about educational issues that we will face as the new budget is discussed.
Leslie Fritz, Region UniServ consultant, presented a program entitled Advocacy and Professionalism.
An Employee Rights Training will be held on Feb. 6, time and place to be announced.
Refreshments were provided for all to enjoy.
