Let's be Clovis

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Clovis' Steve Gershon was stationed at Clovis and Fort Walton Beach, Fla., during his military career.

Here's his take on comparisons to the communities via recent YouTube videos.

"The pictures that were taken (on video), they are mostly on the main streets of Clovis and if you wanted to see these scenes (in Fort Walton) you possibly go to the one part of town well hidden.

"The main part of the city where these military people are coming from is like a paradise, mainly because it's a tourist area and the city takes care of it.

"You don't have to look at the buildings here in Clovis, just look at the roads -- they are all in real bad shape and all the city officials think about is expanding. I have to ask why. Clean up what we have first, and be proud of what we have, then expand.

"Let's be proud and not be almost any American town. Let's be Clovis.

"Let's just get over it, move on, clean up and be proud."
