First Baptist Church of Texico will be hosting a Prophecy Conference next week.
The conference will be held at 7 p.m. nightly Tuesday through Thursday at First Baptist Church of Texico, 224 Turner St., and will feature international speaker, author and evangelist Jimmy DeYoung, according to a news release.
DeYoung, who can be seen on the Day of Discovery television show, speaks primarily about current events in the Middle East and how they relate to biblical prophecies, the news release said.
DeYoung lived in Jerusalem for 12 years, where he served as a television news journalist, founded the Assembly at Jerusalem Church and met and interviewed many international leaders.

Local group hosts Passover Seder celebration
A newly-formed Sabbath Bible Discussion Group will host a Passover Seder meal and celebration at 7 p.m. today at the Wesley Foundation student center across from the Eastern New Mexico University campus.
Passover begins at sundown Saturday.
According to tradition, the Passover Seder is a Jewish ritual feast held to commemorate the story of the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt and to give praise and thanksgiving for God’s deliverance and freedom.
The Sabbath Bible Discussion Group will be taught every other Friday by Frederico “Rico” Rosendo, who is a Messianic Jew. Admission is free.
