Bahama Bucks on the way

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Gary and Jaccie Kraner e-mailed to ask about construction next to Pizza Hut on Prince Street.

Clovis News Journal staff writer Sarah Meyer reports we'll soon have a new business - Bahama Bucks shaved ice - and a new location for The Carpet Store.

Meyer's working on stories for next week.

Clovis newcomer Clair Zarges wants to know "Are there any real Clovis fans out there?"

It seems the answer is yes.

Here's what Kay Arvizu has to say:

"You can certainly count me as a Clovis fan. That does not mean that I am blind to improvements that are needed, or that I always agree with our leadership. ... But wherever we are, we can make a difference. We can be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. I choose to make the most of this life, whatever, whenever, wherever."

Responses to a request for the best burger in the region continue to roll in.

This from Tucumcari's Bill Tausworthe:

"Try a KIX Route 66 burger at KIX in Tucumcari. I like mine with sweet-potato fries. It has Angus ground beef, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and Spanish onion. KIX is on Route 66."

And this from Christopher Martinez:

"I think the best burger in New Mexico, and most of Texas, would most (definitely)  have to be found at Eddie's Subs & More downtown (on) Main Street in Clovis. They have homemade buns and great tasting chili. And their burgers are made fresh to order. You need to try them out!"
