It is so sad when a landmark such as Stansell’s Market decides it is time to close their doors.
I understand the brothers need to think of themselves and their health, and after so many years of working six days a week, it is time for them to retire and enjoy the rest of their lives.
This store provided a small-town market where you could get the best meat, cut to your specifications, fresh produce, milk, bread and all the last-minute items you would run out of when in the middle of making a meal.
The staff knew who you were and you were always greeted with a smile and a, “How are you?”
I wish the Stansell brothers all the best and hope their wonderful staff will find local employment so that we can see them again.
It is hard to see an end of an era.
