Spring break is near an end, but the nicer, more warm weather is just beginning.

It is time to cycle in some of those light fabrics and pastel palettes.

Spring is the best time of the year for fashion. The layering is endless and you can virtually wear your year-round clothing in this one season. You can wear sandals with sweaters, light jackets or shorts.

With eastern New Mexico weather forecasts, you never know what you’re going to get … sometimes we go from freezing to sweating on the same day.

Easter is just a week away. It’s spring holiday time! Do you have an outfit picked out yet?

When I think of Easter, for the ladies, the sundress comes to mind. Finally, we can put away those tights.

The sundress of the season has big floral prints, fancy pleats and delicate laces. I have noticed an abundance of these looks in the spring fashion galleries, runways and in stores.

The dress and/or sundress this season is colorful and ladylike, so say goodbye to the tightly fitted and sassy above-the-knee hemlines (for this occasion at least).

If you can’t find the perfect sundress that fits your taste you can always go with a nice maxi length or below-the-knee pleated skirt and pair it with your favorite blouse. Top it off with a dressy belt. There are some really great versatile looks in maxi skirts to get creative with.

Gentlemen, if you want to look dapper on Easter, you should go with a pop of color. If you can’t bring yourself to wear colorful shirts or pants you can brighten up your footwear. Try on a pair of royal blue, orange or light green slip-ons or loafers with your khaki pants and white button-up shirt this year.

Cuff your pants and let your shoes be the focal point. No-show socks with this look, please, and your pants should be slim fit of course. If you’re still wearing big baggy pants, then it’s time to clean out that closet.
