Short sketches of all the candidates on the June 3 Curry County primary election ballot:

 

District 64 State Representative

Randal S. Crowder – Republican

Age: 63

Resume: Crowder owns a construction company and is a Clovis city commissioner. He also sits on the state Interstate Streams Commission.

Wade Lopez – Republican

Age: 27

Resume: Lopez is a graduate of New Mexico Highlands University and a retail manager and salesman.

 

 

9th Judicial District Attorney

Jennifer Burrill – Democrat

Age: 42

Resume: She’s a private practice attorney, a former deputy district attorney and sits on the Clovis Municipal Schools board. She is also a leader of the Curry County Democrats.

Andrea Reeb – Republican

Age: 43

Resume: Reeb was recently appointed district attorney to fill a vacancy created by Matt Chandler’s resignation. She has 17 years experience as a prosecutor, serving as Chandler’s chief deputy and as a deputy district attorney in the 13th Judicial District.

 

 

 Curry County Commis-sioner – District 1

Angelina Baca – Democrat

Age: 47

Resume: Baca is a private practice attorney in Clovis and active in the Democratic party.

Edwin Perales – Democrat

Age: 49

Resume: He has owned a construction business in Clovis the past 25 years.

 

 

Curry County Commis-sioner – District 3

William Greg Southard – Republican

Age: 54

Resume: He has owned and operated Leslie Candy Co. in Clovis since 2002.

Chet Spear – Republican

Age: 71

Resume: He is a Vietnam veteran, a former Air Force special agent, sheriff’s deputy, Curry County jail administrator and he recently retired after 20 years as a private investigator.

 

 

Curry County Assessor

Candace Morrison – Republican

Age: 32

Resume: Morrison was appointed assessor in 2013 upon former Assessor Tim Lyman’s retirement. She served as Lyman’s chief deputy for two of her eight years with the office.

Carl Patton – Republican

Age: 34

Resume: Patton is an accounting supervisor at Coldwell Banker Colonial Real Estate and a company commander in the Army Reserve.

 

 

Curry County Sheriff

Wesley Waller – Republican

Age: 49

Resume: He is Curry County Undersheriff. He is a 28-year law enforcement veteran, including seven years as undersheriff and a retired state police sergeant.

Sam Elliston – Republican

Age: 64

Resume: He is a 34-year law enforcement veteran, a retired Clovis police lieutenant and a former Curry County Sheriff’s deputy.

Rolf Jordi – Republican

Jordi did not respond to multiple attempts at contact.

 

 

Curry County Probate Judge

Charles “Benny” Adams – Democrat

Age: 61

Resume: Adams is a retired human relations manager.

Mark Lansford – Republican

Age: 57

Resume: Lansford is a certified public accountant, the former Curry County finance director and the brother of Clovis Mayor David Lansford.

•  Joseph Champouillon – Republican

Age: 63

Resume: Champouillon is a funeral director with 30 years experience at Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Randy Rodriguez – Republican

Age: 41

Resume: He is a funeral director at Muffley Funeral Home.

Holly Glenn – Republican

Age: 39

Resume: She is marketing director and an associate broker at Coldwell Banker Colonial Real Estate.

 

 

Magistrate Judge – District 1

Terry Martin – Democrat

Age: 61

Resume: Martin is a longtime member of the Clovis Municipal Schools board, currently serving as president. He also served as president of the New Mexico School Boards Association.

Duane Castleberry – Republican

Age: 60

Resume: He is the incumbent District 1 magistrate judge.

 

 

Magistrate Judge – District 2

Richard Hollis

Age: 54

Resume: Hollis is the incumbent District 2 magistrate judge.
