Animal rescue gets grant for van

Hope Defined Animal Rescue in Clovis recently received a $17,000 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to purchase a transportation van.

According to a press release, the van will be used to transport dogs pulled from the Clovis and Portales animal shelters to receiving animal rescue groups in Colorado in order to be adopted out to new homes.

Hope Defined conducts transports every two weeks and, according to the rescue, and more than 200 dogs have been saved since the transport program began in December 2012.
