Editor's note: This is the third in a series of profiles on graduating seniors from area high schools.
Tyler Steele is a graduating senior at Clovis Christian School. He is a decorated member of the school's football team, and also played basketball and ran track. Steele is also a member of the National Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and was named 2013 Clovis Christian Most Distinguished Scholar.
When he's not in school or on the football field, Steele works part time at McDonald's and helps at his church.
Post-graduation plans: I will work at my job and enjoy the summer, then at the end of summer head off to the University of New Mexico to start college.
Lesson learned: Be competitive. Whether you are trying to get a higher GPA or competing for a starting position in sports, being competitive makes you and the people that you are competing with better.
Future fear: My biggest fear about the future is the uncertainty. Who knows what will happen or how things go? We all have plans of what we want to have happen, but life tends to sometimes mess with those plans.
Source of inspiration: My mom. She has raised me well and instilled in me the foundation of my education and character. Everything that I have and will accomplish have been because of her aid, teaching, and guidance. She has made, by far, the biggest impact on my life.

Little known fact: I have a split uvula. It looks like I have two uvulas, and it always freaks people out. It must be pretty rare too, because I have never met another person with it.
