ENMU's Santi Meza looks for a pass while being trailed by West Texas A&M's Abel Olivas in the final minutes of Thursday's Lone Star Conference soccer match at the ENMU pitch. The 11th-ranked Buffaloes blanked the Greyhounds 3-0.

The Buffaloes (7-1-1, 1-1-0 LSC) led 1-0 at halftime on Wayne Bruton's goal from the right side about midway through the period. Furness scored with about 13 minutes gone in the second half, then assisted on a goal by Colin Bjostad with under 10 minutes left.

ENMU (6-4-0, 0-1-0) matched up with the Buffs in shot attempts with a 12-10 edge, including 5-4 in shots on goal. But the Greyhounds were unable to get anything past WT goalkeeper William Cooper.

The Hounds had won the last two meetings at ENMU between the rivals, and three of the last four. They swept last year's season series, winning by identical 1-0 scores, en route to their first LSC title.

ENMU returns to action on Monday when it hosts a 3 p.m. non-league matchup against University of the Southwest.
