An Artesia man appeared before a Bailey County grand jury Monday on charges connected to the shooting death of his estranged wife, according to the Bailey County district clerk's office.
Daniel A. Cardon, 49, is accused of forcing his way into the home of family members of Lucila Perez on June 4 and shooting her to death in front of witnesses.
According to the district clerk's office:
- Cardon was arrested after a standoff at the City of Lubbock's water plant on US 84.
- Cardon will be arraigned on the charges Wednesday.
