Area road construction and closure information for this week:
City of Clovis
K. Barnett and Sons continues to have cones in place for striping Llano Estacado Boulevard, between Prince and Norris streets between Lowe's Home Improvement and the roundabout.
Lujan Communications, doing work for CenturyLink, will be performing 800 feet of boring work on 21st and Prince streets Monday and Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The work will affect the westbound outside lane of 21st Street.
For public safety and emergency vehicle access at Greene Acres Park on July 4, Main Street will be closed from 21st Street to Purdue Avenue from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
21st Street will be closed from Mitchell to Main streets from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mitchell Street will be closed between 21st Street and Purdue Avenue from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Curry road department will close Curry Road 6 from State Road 348 to Curry Road F from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 2-3 and July 9-10 for chip sealing. Seek an alternate route.
State and Federal
Constructors, Inc. continues construction on U.S. 70/West Second Street in Portales from University Drive, continuing east on West Second Street to Avenue G. Concrete crews will still be on site pouring sidewalks and dry pads. One lane will be open at all times, but may be narrow. Seek an alternate route if possible.
Villalobos Construction Company of Las Cruces will begin work Monday, July 9, on the bridge 7.7 miles north of junction U.S. 60/70/84 and N.M. 108 at Texico. The road will be closed approximately two weeks for construction. Detour signs will be posted.
Observe posted warning and speed limit signs and watch for construction workers in these areas.
