Republican and Curry County resident Mark W. Myers will seek election for state senate in District 7, which encompasses Curry, Quay and Union counties.
Myers attended New Mexico State University and Texas Tech with a focus on agriculture and law. He has more than 20 years business experience in agricultural commodities and transportation.
“I am well aware of the intrusive government regulation that is squelching local commerce and inhibiting industrial expansion,” Myers said. “I believe that by holding government accountable to the people for the people, we will launch an environment favorable to economic growth and stability.”
The position is currently held by Clint Harden, R-Clovis, who declared he would not run for re-election. Republicans Angie Spears and John Patrick “Pat” Woods have also announced their candidacy for the position.
