Today’s focus: Family U.
Household members: 5.
Children: 3 (ages 2, 3, and 7)
Special circumstance: Family U has relocated to Clovis from Arizona in order to take care of elderly parents who have both fallen ill. The family has been helping the parents with medical bills, which have wiped out much of their savings, and the family is struggling to get by with one income.
Clothing needs: Girls pants and shirts size 3T and 4T.
Toys list: Educational toys, Barbie and princess toys. The children are also requesting dishes and kitchen accessories.
The Empty Stocking Fund is a joint effort of the Salvation Army and Freedom New Mexico. Recipients receive gifts and clothes for their children, and around 300 seniors are given meals on Christmas Day.
Who’s helped: Around 300 families who’ve asked the Salvation Army to help make Christmas special.
