The construction of a manufacturing facility in Clovis could bring more than 300 jobs to the area if project funding is approved, according to the city of Clovis officials.

In a meeting scheduled for 7 a.m. today, Clovis Industrial Development Corp. Executive Director Chase Gentry will ask the city’s Economic Development Tax Advisory Board to consider a $3 million loan to Beauty Health and Science Innovations to build a new manufacturing facility in Clovis.

Gentry declined to discuss the proposal and details about Beauty Health and Science Innovations, citing a confidentiality agreement. City Manager Joe Thomas also cited a confidentiality agreement in declining to discuss details.

The City of Clovis Economic Development Tax Advisory Board agenda indicates that $2 million of the zero-interest loan could be awarded at first followed by another million after the company hires 300 employees for a period of at least 12 months (three years later).
