The Sons of the Pioneers will be performing 7 p.m. Monday at the Marshall Auditorium as part of Clovis Community College’s Cultural Arts Series.

Sons of the Pioneers have built a whole new genre that has become synonymous with the American West and the cowboy, according to the group’s website. The Pioneers’ songs are the compositions of the original members, Bob Nolan, Tim Spence and Roy Rogers.

Over the years they have had appearances in more than 90 movies and have been featured on radio shows. They are also well known for label recording projects and television appearances.

Sons of the Pioneers have acquired more recording awards and honors than anyone in Western music, which include the coveted awards from the Academy of Country Music and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
