Curry County Commission districts will remain about the same for the next decade.
Commissioners on Tuesday adopted Plan A before a near-capacity crowd of nearly 50 onlookers on a unanimous 5-0 vote. The plan that only slightly alters two district borders was one of seven alternative options up for consideration.
An earlier motion by Commissioner Wendell Bostwick to adopt another option — Plan D1 — was rejected on a 3-2 vote, with only Bostwick and Commission Chairman Caleb Chandler in favor. Bostwick then offered the motion to adopt Plan A to “put the thing to bed.”
Controversial Plan F — Commissioner Robert Sandoval promised
