Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 7 a.m. July 30 an officer responded to the 400 block of East Ninth Street for a report of suspicious circumstances.
A woman said a man she didn’t know knocked on her door and told her he wanted to have sex with her.
Based on the woman’s description, the officer located the man walking nearby.
The man said he had not been knocking on doors.
The officer noted an odor of alcohol and discovered the man was on probation.
He was arrested for violating his probation.
About 9 a.m. July 31 an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Sheldon Street for a report of bullet holes found in a house.
A man said he heard shots the night before and discovered bullet holes in the front of his house that morning,
He said he also found bullet holes in the front of his son’s nearby house.
Officers found a total of six bullet holes in the front of the second house, one of which went through a window and into an entertainment center in the house and another in a jacket that was hanging on the back of a chair.
A neighbor said he’d heard five gunshots the night before but the officer found no calls had been made to police during the time of the shooting.
The case was listed as inactive due to lack of suspect information.
Around 8 p.m. July 31 officers responded to the area of 13th and Main Streets for a report of a man hitting and kicking a woman.
A witness said he had seen a man hitting and kicking a female while he was walking and that he told the man to stop and that he was calling police. He said the couple then went inside a residence.
Officers went to the residence and spoke to a female who said she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend because they were frustrated that she couldn’t drive their car.
She said he wasn’t home and that he didn’t hit or kick her.
The female gave officers permission to search her home and found the male hiding in a closet.
He was arrested for battery.
About 9 a.m. Aug. 1 an officer responded to a residence in the 200 of Tucker Avenue for a report of harassment.
A woman said her former boyfriend had been texting and calling her repeatedly so she blocked his number.
After she blocked him, she said he began using a friend’s number to contact her so she changed her phone number.
She said she then found out her photo and personal information including her address had been posted on Craigslist.
The suspect’s probation officer called him and told him not to contact the female.
Officers then told the woman to call police if he contacted her again and to get a restraining order against him.
