City commissioner selected as committee chair

City of Clovis and Curry County Commissioner Dan Stoddard has been selected to serve as chairman of Leadership New Mexico’s Local Government Leadership Program Committee.

Founded in 1995, Leadership New Mexico is a nonprofit that has provided a nonpartisan perspective on statewide topics of concern and opportunities for improvement, according to a press release.

The group boasts 900 participants from 70 communities throughout the state since the program’s inception.

Stoddard graduated from the organization’s leadership program in 2009 and 2008 and its core program in 2004 and 2005.

He is actively involved in his community through participation with the Clovis Music Festival, Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Clovis, New Mexico Association of Counties Board of Directors, the state Music Commission Board and the state Assisted Living Services Organization.

He serves as president of Fairhaven Assisted Living and president of Senior Community Services Assisted Living in Santa Rosa.
