Dairy fire caused minor damage

A fire started by a tractor at a dairy Wednesday morning southeast of Clovis caused minor damage, fire officials said.

Clovis Fire Chief Ray Westerman said the fire began around 8:30 a.m. at the Heritage Dairy on Curry Road F, south of U.S. 60/84 and quickly spread to hay and tire piles.

Firefighters from Clovis, Texico, Farwell and Parmer County responded and by 10 a.m. had the fire under control, he said.
